Brown v. Board of Education (racial segregation) protected the rights of both white and colored people showing that everybody that all people should have the same rights, not separated. Gideon v. Wainwright (right to counsel) helped that those charged with crimes who are unable to pay for their own attorneys have the right to have attorneys appointed on their behalf by the state under the Fourteenth Amendment.
