The US tried to stop the spread of communism by the Marshall Plan which gave economic aid to countries that got devastated by the war. The Berlin Airlift was also used to help Berlin during the war. They airlifted food and supplies to them from Allied air bases in Western Germany. One last thing they did was the creation of NATO which is The North Atlantic Treaty Organization. This was an intergovernmental military alliance between 30 member states, 28 European, and 2 North American states.
