Pls help!! Due tmr!!!

(Pls explain :) )

you want to meet your friend at a park 4 mi away from your house. You are going to bike to the park at an average rate of 10 mi/h. Your friend lives 1.2 mi away from the park and walks at an average rate of 3 mi/h. How many minutes ahead of you should your friend start out so that you meet at the park at the same time?

Explanation:

Given,

distance of park from your house= 4 mi

distance of park from your friends house = 1.2m

average speed of your bike = 10mi/h

your friend walks at the average rate of = 3 mi/h

so,

if the average speed of your bike is = 10mi/h

so, with this speed he will reach the park at

d = rt

4 = 10t

t = 4/10

t = 24 minutes

for the frnd,

d = rt

1.2 = 3t

t = 1.2/3

t = 12/30

t = 24 minutes

therefore, you both should start out at exactly the same time

hope this answer helps you dear...if u have any doubt feel free to ask....may u. have a great day ahead!
