Answer: y = 3

Explanation:

Given equation

(5y~-~3)/(4) ~+~6~=~3y

Multiply 4 on both sides (to eliminate fraction)

(5y~-~3)/(4) *4~+~6*4~=~3y*4

(5y~-~3)~+~24~=~12y

Expand parenthesis and combine like terms

5y~-~3~+~24~=~12y

5y~+~21~=~12y

Subtract 5y on both sides

5y~+~21~-~5y~=~12y~-~5y

21~=~7y

Divide 7 on both sides

21~/~7~=~7y~/~7

\Large\boxed{y=3}

Hope this helps!! :)

Answer:

y = 3

Explanation:

(5y - 3)/4 + 6 = 3y

5y - 3 + 24 = 12y

7y = 21

y = 3

Check.

(5*3 - 3)/4 + 6 = 3*3

(15 - 3)/4 + 6 = 9

12/4 + 6 = 9

3 + 6 = 9

9 = 9
