Mammoth Cave in Kentucky is the world's most extensive cave system. It was first advertised in 1816,

making it the second oldest tourist attraction in the United States. Stephen Bishop, an African American
slave and a tour guide, was one of the first people to make extensive maps of the cave, and he named
many of the cave's features, such as The River Styx and The Giant Dome.
