Explanation:

4+8=12

10+5=15

15x12=180

8x10=80

180-80=100

Area of whole - White area = Shaded part

Area of rectangle = l*w
12*15= 180 ( whole)

8*10 = 80 ( white)

Shaded area = 180 - 80 = 100
