A chemist wants to make 45 ml of a 17% acid solution by mixing a 13% acid solution and a 19 % acid solution. How many milliliters of each solution should the chemist use?

23 millilitres of 19% solution

Explanation:

A + B = 45

13A + 19B = 45 x 17 = 765

-13A - 13B + 13A + 19B = -650 + 765 = 115

5B = 115

B = 23

22 + 23 = 45

A = 22
