Laissez faire differed from a centrally planned government because it gave consumers choice unlike a centrally planned government which severely restricted consumer freedoms.

Explanation:

A laissez faire system could not on its' own function in a successful manner as there would need to be regulations on the market and businesses which in a purely laissez faire run economy said restrictions are not present.
