Which number is a counterexample to the following statement? : all numbers that are divisible by 2 are divisible by 4.

False; 2 is obviously divisible by 2, but cannot be divided by 4.

In the sequence of even positive integers {2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, …}, the set containing every other even number is also a counterexample:

{2, 6, 10, 14, 18, …}
