Answer: x = 13

Explanation:

7 more = + 7

twice a number = 2*x = 2x

6 less = -6

3 times the same number = 3 * x = 3x

Putting this together we get:

2x + 7 = 3x - 6

subtract two from both sides to isolate x

(-2x) + 2x + 7 = 3x - 6 (-2x)

7 = x - 6

add 6 to both sides to get your answer

7 (+6) = x - 6 (+6)

13 = x

or

x = 13
