The function of pituitary gland is;

  • To control all other glands and their secretion amount.
  • It has 3 parts, anterior lobe, mid lobe & posterior lobe.

Am given just a brief detail about these three;

  • Anterior lobe: It controls growth hormone, thyroid stimulating hormone, leuteinzing & follicle stimulating hormone.
  • Mid lobe: Controls melanocyte stimulating hormone.
  • Posterior lobe: Vasopressin hormone & oxytocin.

The function of thyroid gland are as follows;

This gland has two lobs and obviously these 2 lobs contains two different hormone, these are;

  • Thyroxine: Its main function is to control the metabolice rate of the different organs and tissues.
  • Calcitonin: Whenever, the concentration of calcium is high in the blood, it moves calcium from blood to bone & it forbiddens the reabsorption of calcium in renal tubular.
