\begin{gathered} 9 - 4√(5) \\ \\ = 4 + 5 - 4√(5) \\ \\ = (- 2)^2 + (√(5))^2 + (2 * - 2 * √(5)) \\ \\ = (- 2 + √(5))^2 \\ \\ = (√(5) - 2)^2 \\ \\ \\ \therefore \sqrt{9 - 4√(5)} = √(5) - 2 \end{gathered}
