Aaron says that to find the volume of a cube he uses the formula L•W•H. Jonelle says that the formula she uses is L to the power of 3. Whose formula is correct? Justify your answer.​

The general formula of volume= Area of base X the height of the object

The area of the base of a cube (square) is calculated with the formula: Length X Length = L to the power of 2.

The area of the base must be multiplied by the height of the object to get the volume.

*You already know that all the dimensions on a cube are equal.

Therefore, the height of the cube will be equal to the Length of the square.

Length to the power of two(this is the area of the base) X Length (the length is equal to the height because the object is a cube)

=Length to the power of three.
