$increase = 13.25 - 12.50 \\ increase = 0.75 \: dollars$

$12.50 = 100\% \\ 0.75 = x\%$

$12.50x = 100(0.75) \\ x = (100(0.75))/(12.50) = (75)/(12.5) = 6\%$
