boxes did they have to
buy to have enough

were left over?

Answer:

144 boxes, 4 popsicles left over

Explanation:

# of boxes and the remainder: 1148/8 = 143 boxes 4 popsicles left over

Since they need to buy full boxes we add 1 to 143 = 144 boxes

A full box is 8 and they only need 4 more so they have 4 left over.
