Explanation:

$( \sec(x) + \tan(x) )( (1 - \sin(x) )/( \cos(x) ) )$

$( (1)/( \cos(x) ) + ( \sin(x) )/( \cos(x) ) )( (1 - \sin(x) )/( \cos(x) ) )$

$( (1 + \sin(x) )/( \cos(x) ) )( (1 - \sin(x) )/( \cos(x) ) )$

$\frac{1 - \sin {}^(2) (x) }{ \cos {}^(2) (x) }$

$\frac{ \cos {}^(2) (x) }{ \cos {}^(2) (x) }$

= 1
