x^3/x the denominator and numerator can cut.
So denominator is just 1x and cut 1x in numerator
Therefore the answer is x^2

first know it in a simple way

that,3-1=2 right so if we add base and numbers in power , because it has same base when x i.e x to the power 1 goes up

Explanation:

x^3/x^1

now

x^3 *x^-1

x^3-1

x^2
