Solution

2(4x + 6) = 8x + 12

8x + 12 + 2x = 42

10x + 12 = 42

10x = 30

x = 3

Therefore the width is 3cm.

3cm * 2 = 6

42 - 6 = 36

36 / 2 = 18

Therefore the length is 18cm
