What color does a sunset cause scenery to take on before the sun sets, and right after the sun sets?.

Part 1, The entire landscape takes on a mesmerizing orange-ish hue as the clouds reflect the fading sun's red and orange glow, allowing only little to no blue (scattered) light from the upper levels of the atmosphere to reach the ground.

Part 2, Within the visible spectrum of light, red light waves are the least scattered by atmospheric gas molecules. So, at sunrise and sunset, when sunlight travels a long path through the atmosphere to meet our eyes, the blue light has been mostly removed, leaving mainly yellow and red light.
