La historia trata sobre el asesinato de Grimanesa, quien era hija de Don Timoteo Mondaraz. Por su parte, su yerno Conrado acude al pueblo, pues corre la noticia de su muerte. Una vez que la difunta está en el ataúd, su padre se acerca y localiza y retira un objeto, luego se va.
