Answer:

Explanation:

let the numbers be x& y

y=4x+17

xy=-18

x(4x+17)=-18

4x²+17x+18=0

4x²+8x+9x+18=0

4x(x+2)+9(x+2)=0

(x+2)(4x+9)=0

x=-2

x=-9/4 (rejected as it is not an integer.)

y=4×(-2)+17=-8+17=9

so numbers are -2,9
