Fitness and longevity (a long life) go hand in hand with each other. The more active you are, or the higher your activity or fitness level is, the greater chance of living for a long time you have. Basically, if you are physically active most of the time, you take care of your health, do exercises, workouts, take walks, and eat healthy — the more chances you have at living longer than most people.

Regular, moderate activities, such as brisk walking, have been associated with increasing life expectancy by several years. For example, 150 minutes of exercise or more each week increased life expectancy by about 7 years over those who didn't do regular moderate exercise.
