Required Solution :

⇒7(v + 4) - 4v = 7

⇒7v + 28 - 4v = 7

⇒7v - 4v = 7 - 28

⇒3v = - 21

⇒ v = - 21/3

v = - 7

Procedure :

  • As in Question, It was given 7(v - 4) - 4v = 7.. Now first we'll multiply 7 × v & 7 × 4 which in result will be 7v & 28 with addition sign in mid, Equal to 7..

  • Now, After multiplying terms your second step, will be to combine common terms.. transposing L.H.S to R.H.S & Vice Versa. Remember! Same variables & Same Constant terms can only operated.

  • After Transposing, according to the variables, your equation will be like.. (7v - 4v = 7 - 28).

  • Now, You can easily calculate the values but didn't you noticed one thing, that when we transposed 28 to R.H.S.. positive 28 became Negative... i.e. (-28).. Rememember (-) when transposed to any side becomes (+) with the constant & Variable same thing happens with (+), It become (-) after transposing.

  • Now, After operating.. Again, You need need to transpose constant term 3.. with (v) variable to be leaved in L.H.S.. Remember! The number which are greater that sign exist & Operating is also done... i.e., (7 - 28) in third step became 21 for sure.. Because after substracting 28 by 7 we get 21.. But sign we'll add is (-)... As, 28 is greater then 7 & the sign which is just before 28 is.. (-)...!!
