Answer:

x = 5

Common denominator of 3/x+1 to 1/2

If the numerator is 3 times, then so is the denominator in a proportion.

3/1=x+1/2

x+1 must equal 6 for the proportion to be equal to 1/2.

6-1=5, so x is 5.
