So to get the best results we want to eliminate as many sources of bias that we can so lets go through the answers

A: A: A random sample of 1000 people from 10 local clothing stores. This is bias because if we choose from people shopping at a store they might like to shop more than usual

B: A random sample of 1000 people from his city. This can't possibly represent all the people in the U.S. because the sample is only from his city so we can't choose this answer

C: A random sample of people from his state. Again this doesn't represent the U.S. and also we don't have a number for the sample size

D. D: A random sample of 1000 people from each of the 50 states. This answer is good because we have a sample size, its random, and it represents the 50 states
