Density is measured as units of mass/volume and its often g/ml. The density of a sample is the mass over the volume. i.e It is calculated by the dividing the mass by the volume.

Since we already know the formula for density;

d = MASS / VOLUME (where mass is 12g and volume is 6ml)

d = 12g / 6ml

d = 2g /mL.
