So is negative 4x + 5 greater than 25 true when x is 0 No it is not because when you multiply negative 4 what times 0 is you get a 0 When you add it to 5 you remain with 5 Therefore 5 cannot be greater than 25 so that is false What about when x is 7 it still false Because when you multiply negative 4 times 7 to stand in you get to have negative 28 when you add it to 5 if you get negative 23 Therefore negative 23 cannot be greater than 25 and what about when x is negative assuming maybe you say when it's negative with the value of 7 So when you multiply negative 4 times negative 7 which is the value of x you get to have 28 when you add it to 5 that should be around that 23 which is greater than 25 therefore that's a true statement
