The perimeter of the enlarged hexagon is 5 times the perimeter of the original hexagon

The steps that can be used to find the effect of the enlargement on the original hexagon can be presented as follows;

The side length of the regular hexagon = 6 cm

The scale factor of the enlargement transformation = 5 times initial size

Length of the sides of the enlarged hexagon are therefore;

Length is; 5 × 6 cm = 30 cm

Number of sides in an hexagon = 6 sides

Perimeter of the original hexagon is; 6 × 6 cm = 36 cm

Perimeter of the enlarged hexagon is; 6 × 30 cm = 180 cm

Therefore, the perimeter of the enlarged hexagon is; 180/36 = 5 times the perimeter of the original hexagon
