Part A: To figure out part A. Multiply the numbers that line up, in this case. It's 7x6 which is 42.

Part B: The numbers that line up for the house are 15 and 7. BUT Part of the 15 belongs to the patio. The patio's length is 6, so subtract 6 from 15. That equals 9. So, 9 x 7 is 63. The house is 63 meters.

Part C. To figure out how much grass he needs, you need to know how big his backyard is. The two numbers that line up is 35 and 15. BUT, part of 35 is the width of the house and the patio. So, subtract the length of them, in this case, it's 7. 35 - 7 is 28. Now, you multiply 28 by 15 which is 420 meters!
