There are two ways to answer this question, and one is a lot easier than the other. The first is to divide f(x) by g(x) and then substitute 8 for x, which could take a very long time and would be a huge pain.

On the other hand, you can substitute 8 into the equation f(x), and get

f(8) = 3- 2(8) = 3-16 = -13

Then substitute 8 into g(x) and get

g(8) = 1 /(8 +5) = 1/(13)

Then you simply divide the two to get -13/(1/13). Here, you can multiply the numerator and the denominator of the larger fraction by 13, so you would end up with -169/1, or, the answer to your problem: -169.
