Part A

4 CD's cost $30.40, so one CD costs:

  • 4p = $30.40
  • p = $30.40/4
  • p = $7.60

Part B

80% of the regular price is $7.60

If the regular price is r, we have:

  • 0.8r = $7.60
  • r = $7.60/0.8
  • r = $9.5

3 CD's at regular price cost:

  • $9.5*3 = $28.5

Since $25 < $28.5, we can't buy 3 more CD's.
