Basic Proportionality Theorem :-

• If a line is drawn parallel to one side of a triangle to intersect the other two sides in distinct points , the other two sides are divided in the same ratio.

PROCEDURE :-

According to Basic Proportionality Theorem ,

`(CB)/(AB) = (CD)/(ED)`

`=> (3)/(x) = (4)/(6)`

`=> x = (3 * 6)/(4) = (18)/(4) = 4.5`

∴ AB = 4.5 units
