There are two spherical mirrors -
- Concave and
- Convex
Concave Mirror - A spherical mirror , whose reflecting surface is curved inwards , that is , faces towards the centre of the sphere , is called concave mirror.
Cnovex Mirror - A spherical mirror whose reflecting surface is cirved outwards is called convex mirror.
Step-by-step explanation:
Points of difference :
- The reflecting surface of the concave mirror is bulged inwards . But the reflecting surface of the convex mirror is bulged outwards.
- Concave mirror produces real and inverted images ( except when the object is placed between F and P , concave mirror produces virtual and erect image ) . But is convex mirror always produces virtual and erect images.
- The image formed by the concave mirror may be enlarged or diminished, according to the position of the object. The image formed by convex will be always diminished.
