So , 6x + 4 = 5 - x - 1
6x + 4 = 4 - x
6x + x = 4 - 4
7x = 0
x = 0/7 = 0

Answer:

6x + 4 = 5 - (x + 1)

open the bracket, [ distribution property ]

$6x + 4 = 5 - x - 1 \\ 6x + 4 = 4 - x$

collect like terms:

$6x + x = 4 - 4 \\ 7x = 0 \\{ \boxed{ \boxed{ x = 0}}}$
