Answer:

x = 7/2 (3 1/2), y = 2

Explanation:

  • 2x - 1 = 3y

  • 10x + y -5=32

Step 1: Solve 10x + y - 5 for y.

  • 10x+y-5-10x=32-10x (subtract 10x from both sides)

  • y - 5 = -10x + 32

  • y-5+5=-10x+32+5 (add 5 to both sides)

  • y = -10x + 37

Step 2: Substitute -10x + 37 for y in 2x - 1 = 3y.

  • 2x-1=3(-10x+37)

  • 2x - 1 = -30x + 111 (simplify both sides)

  • 2x-1+30x=-30x+111+30x (add 30x to both sides)

  • 32x-1=111

  • 32x-1+1=111+1 (add 1 to both sides)

  • 32x = 112

  • 32x/32 = 112/32 (divide both sides by 32)

  • x = 7/2

Step 3: Substitute 7/2 for x in y = -10x +37.

  • y=-10(7/2) +37

  • y = -35 + 37 (simplify both sides)

  • y = 2 (simplify both sides

Have a lovely rest of your day/night, and good luck with your assignments! ♡

2x-1=3y would be 1/-3
For 5 (2x-1)+y=32 would be 37/10, if its wrong, forgive me
