Answer:

The general equation of a slope-intercept form is as below;

y = mx + c

m » slope / gradient

c » y - intercept

x » x - intercept

Since our equation is 5x + 2y = -6, make y the subject:

5x + 2y = - 6

subtract 5x from either sides:

(5x + 2y) - 5x = - 6 - 5x \\ 2y = - 5x - 6

apply the division rule of equality:

(2y)/(2) = ( - 5x)/(2) - (6)/(2) \\ \\ { \boxed{ \boxed{answer : \: y = - (5)/(2) x - 3}}}

slope » -5/2

y - intetcept » -3
