solve this system by ELIMINATION. show ALL steps please.
3x+4y=24
x-8y= -20​

2(3x+4y) = 2(24)
6x+8y = 48
Add both the equations
6x + 8y = 48
+ x - 8y = -20
—————————
7x = 28
x = 28/7
x = 4

Plug in this value in the second equation

(4) - 8y = -20
-8y = -24
y = -24/-8
y = 3

Therefore:
x = 4
y = 3
