Jeremy bought a $60 pair of sneakers on sale for 15% off. Then, he used a coupon that gave him an additional 10% off. Can Jeremy find the cost of the sneakers by adding the percents? Justify your answer:

by finding 25% off of $60, and
by finding 15% off of $60, and then subtracting 10% from that cost.

Answer:

It would be option 2 finding 15% off of 60 and then taking the 10% off of that.

Step-by-step explanation: This is because if its a coupon that doesn’t specify 10% off original price then even when there’s a sale you only take that 10% of the sale price.

Hope this helps.
