Area1 = Surface area of rectangular prism without top = lw + 2wh + 2lh

= 9*8 + 2*8*5 + 2*9*5

= 72 + 80 + 90

Cube:

a = 5 ft

Area2 = Surface area of cube without top = 5a²

= 5 *5²

= 125 sq. ft

Area3 Surface area of the top = l*w - a²

= 9*8 - 5²

= 72 - 25

= 47 sq.ft

Surface area of the figure after removing cube = area1 +area2 + area3

= 242 + 125 + 47
