The Sun is 2.093 × 108 km (kilometers) from Mars and the speed of light is 2.5 × 108 m/s. Calculate the time it takes light, from the Sun, to reach Mars.

(Remember: distance = speed x time (d = st)

Answer:

Explanation:

d = 2.093 * 10^8 km

r = 2.5 * 10^8 meters = 2.5 * 10^8 meters * 1 km / 1000 m

r = 2.5 * 10^5 km/s

t = d/r

t = 2.093 * 10^8 km / 2.5 * 10^5 km/sec

t = 837.2 seconds

t = 13.95 minutes

I think there's an error in the question, The second answer would be right if the power were a +2

I would ask your teacher about this one.
