Explanation:

Area of rectangle = length x width

(10 x 14. Add on the length of the triangle base)

Area of triangle = 1/2 base x height

(1/2*4 x 2. Notice the missing lengths on either side of 6 would be 2. 2 is also the height of the triangle)

In the figure, you have a rectangle with two equal triangles cut out at the bottom.

Find the area of the rectangle and subtract the area of the two triangles.

Area of rectangle 10x14= 140

Area of one triangle (1/2)4 x 2 = 4

Area of rectangle - two times area of triangle

140 - 2(4) =

140 -8 = 132
