Let cats be x

  • Dogs be x+20

ATQ

\\ \sf\longmapsto (x)/(x+20)=(3)/(8)

\\ \sf\longmapsto 8x=3(x+20)

\\ \sf\longmapsto 8x=3x+60

\\ \sf\longmapsto 8x-3x=60

\\ \sf\longmapsto 5x=60

\\ \sf\longmapsto x=(60)/(5)

\\ \sf\longmapsto x=12

\\ \sf\longmapsto x+20=12+20=32
