First convert all the units into inches.

2 feet = 24 inches

Let x be the width of the actual desk

5 : 24 :: 115 : x

Remember this: Product of means is equal to the product of extremes.

5x = 115 × 24

5x = 2760

∴ x = 2760 ÷ 5

x = 552 inches

Then convert 552 inches back to foot.

Final answer = 46 foot
