i did 2 = 1/3(3) - 3 then 2 = 1 - 2, 2 = -2 ?? im not a genius tbh

you want to use the slope intercept formula, and you may as well remember this, you'll need it often

y = mb + b

where m = the slope of the line. and is , for later math , the derivative :) any way

perpendicular means going perfectly across, and also the slope is a reciprocal of the line we are going orthogonal to ( another way of saying perpendicular, but more for 3D things. )

y = 1/3 x - 3

we want the 1/3 and then the reciprocal so 3/1 or just 3 and then the negative of that so -3 :)

now use the point given (3,2) to choose where the ling passes thur the y axis. so when x=3 , then y = 2, use the point slope formula

y - y1 = m(x-x1)

now plug in the given point and the slope that was figured out

y-2 =-3(x-3) (distribute the 3 and move the 2 over )

y = -3x +9 +2

y = -3x +11

that's a perfectly fine perpendicular line to the given line.
