What number should be added to both sides of the equation to complete the square?

x2 – 10x = 7

x2 - 10x = 7

You move the constant to the right which looks like: - 10x = 7 - 2

- 10x = 5

Then you divide both side by -10. The answer is:

X = -1/2 OR x = -0.5
