Explanation- Human activities affect marine life and marine habitats through overfishing, habitat loss, the introduction of invasive species, ocean pollution, ocean acidification and ocean warming. These impact marine ecosystems and food webs and may result in consequences as yet unrecognized for the biodiversity and continuation of marine life forms.

Marine pollution results from the introduction of industrial, agricultural, and residential wastes into the ocean. The majority of this waste (80%) comes from land-based activity, although marine transportation also significantly contributes as well.Much of the land-based pollution is what is called nonpoint source pollution, meaning the pollutant results from several diffuse sources rather than a single, direct source
