Explanation:

This is a compound shape, we can split them up.

The square is 10in.*10in.=100in.^2

Now we can move on to the triangle

The equation for a triangle is 1/2(Base*Height)=Area

So we can just plug those it 1/2(4in.*6in.)=12in.^2

Now we can add the two areas together; 12in.^2+100in.^2= 112in.^2
