To find the slope of a line, you have to calculate the rise and run. The rise is the number of units high one point is from another. The run is the number of units left or right one point is from the other. For example, I'll find the slope of (2,5) and (3,9). The formula is y2-y1 over x2-x1. So we have to do 9-5 over 3-2, which is 4 over 1, or 4/1. So the slope is 4.
