The area is equivalent to


A=(hb)/(2)

h=height

b=base

now we setup an equation with what we are given

we are given A (area) and h(height)

so the equation looks like...


75=(10b)/(2)

now we solve for b (x)

step 1 multiply each side by 2

75x2=150

/2x2 cancels out

now we have

150=10b

step 2 divide each side by 10

150/10=15

10/10 cancels out

b=15

We can conclude that the base (aka x) is equal to 15
