Explanation:

y=mx + b

•+b will move to the other side "y" changing the +ive sign to -tive

mx=y-b

°Divide both sides by m

mx/m=y-b/m

•mx/m

m cancels m leaving only x

•other side y-b/m stays the same as there's no like term that can eliminate or join together

•Answer:x=y-b/m

x = (y - b)/(m)

Explanation:

y=mx+c

Take c from both sides:

y-c = mx

Divide both sides by m:

(y-c) / m =x

Now swap sides to make it prettier:

x = (y-c) / m
